If u wan to tap, is quite easy actually... try to remove and slowly pull out the led... I tried before...
My project is, i wan to replace the LED hole wif a toggle switch for my LED strip and relocate & change the alarm LED. If i still cannot figure out how to remove the steeling wheel cover, then no choice, i have to tap parallel with the orginial LED and drill another hole for my toggle switch...
Haiz... anyone, help...

I have successfully remove the cover at the key area! the top cover u need to force open while the bottom cover was secure by 3 screw. Even after removing the cover, u still need to pull out the original LED and remove the LED plastic holder. Dun need the worry abt the cable, cfm more than enuff to pull all the way to dash board.
Anyone know how not to let the LED blink? i wan it to be stable bcos i had changed the LED to rainbow colour where it will auto change colour continously.
Rgds.

I had finally complete my DIY project...
1) relocate and change alarm LED
2) install 2-way switch for LED strips
3) Laying cable to doors
Shack! Got cuts here and there....
Cheers.....

Hey some question to ask. I also managed to tap the alarm led and cut it off and replace it with another LED. But it does not light up after i lock my car leh. I faster connect back the original led, lock the car and it still works. Wonder y the LED cant work? It's 12V also leh, i tested it b4 i use. Any pointers? Tks in advance.

Is the LED polarity connected correctly?
Is there a 100~200ohm resistor soldered in series with the LED?
After changing back to the original LED, did u test ur the other LED?

An idea jus struck my mind. If i connect a capacitor parallel with the LEDs, you think it works? Capacitor can be charged and discharged very fast so just wondering. Dunno wat farad value to use, will try an error... perhaps tonite.
