recommend me HU

bros,

my stock sony head-unit button broke and its warranty has expired already. repairing it will be damn ex so i was thinking of replacing it with a brand new hu instead.

my budget is max 200sgd; seems that pioneer is way cheaper than sony.

the cheapest pioneer DEH-P3000IB costs sgd 130.00 (ignore the 2000MP- not made for iPod) and the cheapest sony CDX-GT160S costs sgd 209.00.

i think the p500ub and p4000ub look pretty good in terms of features for their prices, though i haven't tried pioneer before.

thanks for the reply and link bro, i prefer 1st hand cos of warranty. does anyone know if other brands of head-units are compatible with our lancers? just plug and play?

I believe as long as is 1-din, all should be compatible... =)

Single din is something like the stock . Double din usually come together with DVD player. To me i find that 200 with 1 year warranty both the brand u mention are all ok. I perfer pioneer cos quite easy to control. Whereby i always find sony quite hard to adjust. Maybe i so use to pioneer

Yup... as wat Crazyforice bro have explain.... Btw, regards to both HU u mentioned, from the outlook, i feel pioneer is better. Maybe u would wan to look into DEH-P4000UB or DEH-P5000UB whereby they have direct USB. With USB, it think u can forget abt ur iPod since thumbdrive is so cheap nowadays. =)
