was cruising on malaysia highway with 170-180 but unfortunately a very short distance only, SLOW DOWN appear on panel, really no shiok..same error apear few time after slow down for awhile and cruise again.
anyone know how to overcome this other than install transmission cooler? any good suggestion a good installer for autocooler. (other than khang auto, went already, they seem bypass stock watercooler by their custom made cooler, only use aircool if not mistaken).
i know this has been in discussion for some time but didnt really give a good way to overcome this, warning still appear even with cooler installed due to CVT limitation......ai seh.

your rpm was in the red zone ?

nope rpm @ 4k +
I think there is no confirmed solution yet, ATF cooler is still the only way that might solve the "SLOW DOWN" warning. There are some feedback saying those M'sia GT with factory fitted ATF cooler, though small but they don't get this problem?

Bro, problem still not solved in M'sia even with the ATF plus extra Hayden transmission cooler. Big letdown especially when cruising long distance, one dealer introduced bigger Hayden Dawg cooler that comes with own fan but so far no FR yet on this.

Sound like speed cut..
E.g. Speed cut at 180km/h - when u hit that speed the ECU will automatically cut off fuel to the engine to reduce the speed (maybe around 10km) you sunddely feel something like a strong engine brake (not good 4 engine).
To remove speed cut you could flash the ECU or buy a piggyback

bro not speedcut. i use to travel with >200 in short distance.
SLOW DOWN appear only when constantly with highspeed.
think best way now is installed ATF cooler to help bit...
already PM few ATF cooler installer..need some reviewed before really put on ATF cooler.

If that is the case... Ya you need a ATF cooler..

from what you described, i experienced before on my EX 2.0 also. was on NSHW back from KL, travelling at constant 190km/h (cruise control) then suddenly I hear the computer beep and show a slow down sign. I ignored and carry on, in no time, my speed was cut and my car slowing down... came back ask my agent, he told me all 2.0 ex will have the same problem of ATF overheating at constant high speed. He mentioned he tried installing ATF cooler and it doesn't really help.

any solutions to this issue yet?

Maybe can try to avoid using cruise control above 180km/Hr, as ECU will auto revharder when slightly uphill to maintain speed. At high speed level ground, ECU will also maintain wide open throttle position leading to easy overheating. Suggest using "manual" foot control to varies throttle slightly (e.g. between 180-190km/Hr), also to build upon the car momentum at high speed. I was using this method along NSHW.

bros, so this problem will only occue when we switch on cruize control? If mannual step pedal no problem is ot? if thats the case, then most likely the car cruise computer is the cut off

drove back from KL yesterday, I did not spot even one EX or GT.

Not exactly the cruise computer, my personal feel it is more of prolong period of higher RPM (perhaps above 4K).

SLOW DOWN appear on panel, really no shiok
This is weird, anyone have this warning as well? I don't recall seeing this msg on my display. I got to 195-200km/h (wife as witness). Maybe I didn't travel at that speed long enough. Mine's a 1.5 (no cruise control).

Melvin, this only happened to 2.0 CVT model :)

Oops sorry, I'm at the wrong discussion then haha. Anyway, I might have alot to worry then, perhaps 1.5 doesn't have a sensor to detect overheat. Hence, no warning at all (even when overheat)? Okay drive safe liao.
stick a "speed up" sticker over the "slow down" panel?
I don't mean to be rude, but why need to cruise at such high speed in NSH.
140 to 150km/h should be adequate and safe.

its an individual risk..
140-150 km/h even a 1.3 l can do it comfortably..
sorry but y buy a fast car wen u dn utilise its full potential..
sorry but dun mean to be rude jus my 2 cents..

anyone got solution to ATF overheating yet?
anyone brought their GT to track and faces the same problem whereby you can't run your vehicle in manual mode due to the overheating?
I guess track is still ok, you don't keep on dragging at 180km/h and above anyway. major part of this problem should be on NSHM.

Track not OK. Was at PG last Sunday as a Spectator and saw another 2.0A came to me and ask why his Auto over-ride his Manual mode after 2 hot laps.
Told him i read on Forum abt this CVT safety feature.
Really hope after so long, Senior Bros can offer some advise and solutions to this problem.
Cheers.

bro it is not a matter on keeping @ 180km/h. its about the rpm range that the car is in....:)
