If I not wrong, it uses same oil as brake fluid.

If I not wrong, it uses same oil as brake fluid.

Brake fluid and clutch fluid are same, DOT 3, DOT 4 or even DOT 5.1 are ok. Brake fluid are corrosive to paintwork, do not have EP additive such as those in gear oil.

Manual gearbox for CS3 use API GL4, other car may specified API GL5. Difference between GL4 and GL5 is the EP additive level. Too high EP additive in GL5 may attack yellow metal (i.e. brass, bronze, copper) in gearbox.

My preference is to change it at the initial first 10k km, to flush out those wear metal particle.
Next gear oil replacement around 50k km later, to ensure all initial wear metal flush out.
Subsequent gear oil change interval can be up to 80k ~ 100k km would be safe, as the gearbox environment is enclosed, not subjected to combustion gases, etc.

I just changed my gear oil at 50k. I haven't changed since day 1 and its really black! CH Motors changed it for me. The oil they used was 'Total'. Quite smooth la.. hahhaha..

I should have changed it earlier like 30k or 40k b4 it becomes so black. but subsequently can last abt 40k - 60k before u change again.
