Up TD04 Tuning! Unichip or Reflash ECU by harmony

Few questions, When we up the turbo to td04, should we tune using UniChip or Harmony ECU reflash?

Which will give the best performance?

Will Unichip able to remove speed cut and boost cut?

hi bro.

i drive a CS5 also and i know for a fact that only harmony can do a reflash of the ecu which will remove speed cut and boost cut. its our ECU that makes it impossible to remove speed and boost cut for our car.

if you have the money then go for the harmony reflash. but personally i'm quite contented with 0.7 bar (ecu limited) and doing a proper tune.

DO NOT UPSIZE YOUR TURBO.

Our GDI's compression ratio (10.2:1? can't remember but DEFINITELY 10+) is too high to support high boost applications.

The most you can do is boost at 0.8-1 bar and let your tuner play with the rest of the parameters (ie. timing, af ratio, etc..) to get the most power if you intend to run on the stock engine - GDIs do not have aftermarket piston support :(

For this reason I support Joey's reflash - cuz i've seen cars hit 220 bhp without problem. More specialized tuning will require more specialized modding (the illegal stuff). I have not tried CS5s using unichip so i won't comment there

TD04 - Isnt a problem. (Tested)
ECU - Only refresh could remove speed & boost. Another option is standalone.

ya up turbo no problem..

but it is costly to remove just the speed & boost @880.
With + Tuning it is @1200.

When u want to install the UniChip, plus tune and mapping will cost you @1250, + remove speed & boost @880. Total dmg 2k+ leh!

well, to start with, COMPRESSION RATIO!!! And errr, i know two CS5Ws (from japan) so far whose engine piang running 350 bhp @ 1.3 bar on 1 TD04 and TD05. One on e-manage and one on Haltech.

But seriously, CAN AH? cuz i will really go and lup a TD04 and risk it if you all think can...with experience..lol

Got u save money on mods so that u wouldnt need to spend even more on buying a bigger, faster car.! Isnt that saving?

good analogy actually...esp when kena chase by turbo civics and evos...then like that $10k quite worth it. but still no 4wd or sayc :(
