Hi,
I had installed an apexi open pod filter. But seem like my car low end is not performing well. But its high end is rather good. Anybody can suggest what to do to solve this low end issue?
Thanks.
Remove the open pod and change back to stock ^^

also must operate muffler to complete the mod.
Also the design of the extractor will also affect torque range.
4-2-1, i prefer to go for longer "2" for better drivability , better low end.

open pod without CAI isit
if so u might as well not do open pod.
u might as well just drop-in.
anyway a straight thru procedure is frm 4-2-1 to ur exhaust. ligt weight crank pulley n blah blah at the end can onli gain tt insignificant amt...u can try reflash ECU ...some say it works frm the review given in SLC.
lta friendly mods - not much gain. lta not friendly mods - inexpensive one no use, still must pay money to ah gong, expensive one u can bear? get caught le also must gif ah gong money...

operate is to reduce restriction, or so call minimise constipation.
improve efficiency and reduce power lose.
for low bassy sound, operate muffler might not be ideal. have to go for aftermarket muffler like remus etc.
For CVT, straight thru might not be the best set up, i heard of a customised bent in the muffler to induce back pressure... not too sure if its good.
Supreme is ok .

complimentary function.
u got open pod right. open pod beside what? hot engine...hot air got use? whats the best ? cold air right..so u need a cold air intake to feed tt hungry open pod. usually its enhanced with a heatshield...bro better to understand b4 jump in to do things...dn kena poison too fast! oso good to ask arnd the various open pod b4 realli installing =) cheers. anyway daniel frm JDM does pretty good job on CAI w Heatshield

This is my simple mod. I try to keep the front part so as to serve as a heat shield and also to direct cold air into my filter.

lol... cold air is never enough... sometimes i would just like to put my air filer on top of the roof!!
anyway, i think it's interesting how you come up with that idea. I wouldn't have come up with that.
But conventionally, a heatshield would be slightly more appropriate. Some ppl would add a cover for the heatshield.
After that, a hole would be cut to allow the snorkel in.
Another whole would be cut to allow the cold air intake pipe in.
keke.... come down tomorrow evening!! i might be there!!!

there are so many things, some use heat shield material, some include CAI, some DIY the intake snorkel , some make hole at their bumper to induce air etc ...really depends which setup makes most sense to you.

For me, I go for CAI with heat shield material. Reason being tat I want minimum setup. If you do DIY intake snorkel or hole at the bumper, you need to have hole cut or make extension. All this might damage your car if not properly done or rather might be quite messy.

also must operate muffler to complete the mod.
Also the design of the extractor will also affect torque range.
4-2-1, i prefer to go for longer "2" for better drivability , better low end.
